How do you choose the right venetian blinds?
The best venetian blinds are not only about choosing the right color. They are the solution that fits your window type, the way the room is used and the direction of the light. The right choice makes the blinds look refined while also helping the room stay cooler and more comfortable where the sun hits hardest.
Between the frames or surface mounted?
The correct installation method is always chosen according to the window construction. In many Finnish MSE and MSK windows, the blind can be installed neatly between the frames for a discreet, dust-protected and easy-to-use result. If the window is fixed or the room simply needs something else, we choose a surface-mounted solution. It looks just as considered but gives more freedom in material, slat width and size.
Aluminum, Perforated Or Wood?
In kitchens, bathrooms and other hard-working spaces, aluminum is usually the safest choice because it handles moisture and everyday use well. Perforated slats work especially well in offices and sunny living spaces where glare needs to come down without losing daylight. Wood venetian blinds are usually the better fit when the blind should contribute to the interior, not just solve privacy.
Does your blind leak light? Nohole is the answer
If you are annoyed by the dotted light leaks that shine through standard venetian blinds, Nohole is designed for exactly that problem. Unlike conventional blinds, the cord holes in a Nohole system are placed at the edge of the slats. When the blind closes, the slat above covers the hole below, creating a more uniform surface, stronger darkening and far fewer distracting light points.
The Aptolux approach to venetian blinds starts with how the room should work, not just which product looks good in a sample. During the measuring visit, we assess the window construction, sun exposure, daily use of the room and the interior as a whole so the finished result still feels considered years from now.

How the light dots disappear
If you are annoyed by the dotted light leaks that shine through standard venetian blinds, Nohole is designed for exactly that problem. Unlike conventional blinds, the cord holes in a Nohole system are placed at the edge of the slats. When the blind closes, the slat above covers the hole below, creating a more uniform surface, stronger darkening and far fewer distracting light points.
⚡ Note: Darkening is significantly better than standard venetian blinds, but does not equal the 100% blackout of a solid roller blind. Perfect for bedrooms, TV rooms and home offices.

Frequently asked questions
Clear answers before you request a quote.
How much do made-to-measure venetian blinds cost installed?
Price depends on window dimensions, material, slat width, model and installation method. Aptolux venetian blinds start from 110 euros installed. Send your location, approximate window count and a few photos via WhatsApp for a useful quotation basis.
Should venetian blinds be fitted between the frames or surface mounted?
Many Finnish MSE and MSK windows allow discreet installation between the frames. Fixed windows, wider slats and timber blinds often suit surface mounting better. We verify the window construction before confirming the final solution.
Are aluminum or wood venetian blinds better?
Aluminum is easy to maintain and moisture resistant, making it practical for kitchens, bathrooms and busy rooms. Wood creates a warmer, more decorative finish in living rooms and bedrooms. The best choice depends on the room, light and desired appearance.
